Over the weekend, Priscilla Presley – the ex-wife of Elvis Presley – held her first live conversation show in Glasgow, titled An Evening with Priscilla Presley. During the candid chats, she recalled sordid details of Elvis visiting her home long after they had split up so he could talk to her about things he wouldn’t tell other people in his life.

Priscilla looked back on first meeting Elvis in Germany in the late 1950s while he was stationed there in the US Army. Priscilla was just 14-years-old at the time, while Elvis was 24-years-old.

After his stint in the army ended, he returned to the USA, and quickly made arrangements for her to fly over and meet him. From there, her relationship blossomed, and she eventually moved to Graceland for good.

On May 1, 1967, Elvis and Priscilla got married. Exactly nine months later, on February 1 1968, their only child was born, Lisa Marie Presley. Just a few years later, on October 9, 1973, the couple got divorced. But their relationship didn’t end there.

Priscilla revealed they still “cared for each other”, despite no longer being together. “After we divorced,” she said during her live show. “He would come to the house in the middle of the night even when he was dating other women. And I still went to Graceland.” (Via The Mirror)

Priscilla revealed he would bring things with him to entertain her.

“He would bring books and read them to me at two in the morning while Lisa was sleeping,” she said.

Things felt a little complicated for Priscilla, however. Elvis was dating Linda Thompson, at the time, another woman he fell madly in love with after he left Priscilla.

And Priscilla, too, was moving on: “I was dating someone and Elvis would come. We would talk at two until three, four or five am.”

She added: “I started to get nervous because he was dating Linda at the time.”

Although Priscilla felt a little uncomfortable during these times, she did admit she thought back on her time with Elvis fondly.

“I look back now and I think that was a special time that we had together that no one really knew about,” she mused. “That I never really talked about.”

She pointed out that he would come over to her house in the dead of night to talk about the things “he really didn’t want to talk about with the guys” meaning his close friends in the Memphis Mafia.

“We had more fun and did so much with our lives in closeness and in laughter than any of the other women,” she pointed out.

Priscilla continued to praise Elvis, who was found dead in Graceland on August 16, 1977, aged 42-years-old. He suffered a cardiac arrest and died almost instantly.

“I’m so fortunate having that life with him and time with him,” Priscilla reminisced. “I cherish every moment. I still love Elvis very much.”

Priscilla and Elvis’ daughter, Lisa Marie, died earlier this year, on January 12, 2023, aged 54.
