One mom is sharing how she was able to become the breadwinner of her family and give her husband an early retirement on £41,000 a year.

Samantha Martinez, 29, and her husband Phillip, 30 struggled to juggle being parents to three children while managing finances.

With Phillip working full-time and long hours in his job, Samatha began to feel like a single parent and was worried he was missing important milestones.

However, the young mother chose to take matters into her own hands and become the sole breadwinner of the family.

This meant that Phillip was essentially retired by his early 30s which was a change of dynamic for the pair.

According to Smanatha, this was a move that “changed their lives for the better” despite certain sacrifices having to be made.

Speaking to NeedToKnow.co.uk, she explained: “My husband broke his back for this family over the last eight years and now I bring in the money, we’re living our dream.

“We had to lower our lifestyle when he left his job, but our lives are much more fulfilled now. From the beginning of our marriage, he worked 16-hour days as a roofer and it’s not how I pictured our first year as husband and wife.

“As a mom, I was alone, raising three children, and only getting pieces of him that were left over from his long day. When he missed the birth of his second son in order to provide for our livelihood, that’s when we knew we couldn’t continue living like this forever.”

On top of work stress, Phillip was also dealing with health, mainly with his vision and hearing which added to the pressure.

Furthermore, friendships and relationships came under strain due to the financial stress which was being placed upon them.

This led to the couple “drifting far apart”, according to Samantha. When this happened, she decided to explore starting a business as a motivational coach for women.

As it stands, the entrepreneur is earning around £41,000 a year doing this which she says increases every year.

She added: “Knowing my husband was struggling so much living unaligned with his values was a driving force for me starting a business.”

“I knew I had found my purpose, as women are heavily uneducated about how our bodies work outside of the uterus.

“I wanted to change the world by teaching about their hormones, how to naturally plan a family and move to the next level as powerhouses. It’s important to bring women back home to their bodies and teach them how special they truly are.”
