Queen Letizia of Spain opts for ‘passionate’ look at the Palace – and she looks ‘perfect’

The award ceremony took place at the Palacio Real de El Pardo, or the Royal Palace of El Pardo, one of the official residences of the Spanish Royal Family that is currently used as a state guest house. Queen Letizia and King Felipe live at the Zarzuela Palace, their main residence in Madrid.

For today’s occasion, Queen Letizia chose a chic red ensemble featuring long puffed sleeves and a flowy skirt from the fashion brand Bimani.

The Spanish monarch combined the stylish dress with a pair of red stilettos from Magrit and donned gold and ruby drop earrings from Gold and Roses, matching her entire outfit.

The Queen also sported one of her favourite rings: a maxi gold design from Spanish jeweller Coreterno.

Letizia is a fan of red monochrome looks and often wears the shade, perhaps to represent the Spanish national flag which features the colours yellow and red, but it could also have a deeper meaning.

According to a recent study by the University of Durham, women who wear red head to toe are perceived as good leaders.

In fact, red is often worn by politicians, royals and people of high status to represent power. Red is a strong shade and easy to spot in a crowd, which is why most senior royals wear bright colours.

However, these red looks can also be “intimidating” for other people and in the case of Queen Letizia, it suggests she is a strong and confident woman.

Red is often considered the most emotional colour and the intense hue has psychological connections when wearing it as is associated with passion, love, confidence and power.

Experts at Color-meaning explained that if you are drawn to red colours, like Queen Letizia, it indicates “extroversion, passion, energy, and a personality type driven to live fully”.

“People who like red clothes also tend to be aggressive, energetic, and quick in releasing their emotions. Red clothes indicate a person who is quick in judging people and expressing opinions,” they added.

Royal fans took to social media to praise Queen Letizia’s look with many saying red is “definitely her colour”.

Royal fan @patriux83 commented: “Very pretty. Red has always been Letizia’s go-to colour. It’s definitely her colour, as well as white and pastel blue.”

Instagram user @brsaisa added: “She looks good today. Lovely dress. Very beautiful and appropriate.”

Royal fan @ana.licari opined the monarch looked “splendid” and @nuriacurtogomez agreed: “Perfect! Although I would have added brown shoes or a bag.”
