S Club 7 star Paul dies: What will happen to UK tour dates and tickets? | Music | Entertainment

S Club 7 star Paul Cattermole was photographed happily beaming and dancing on a walk just yesterday. With the band’s reunion tour due to kick off in Manchester on October 12, the 46-year-old looked like he was on top of the world. This afternoon, the terrible news broke that the star had been discovered dead at his home just a few hours after those pictures were taken. The police have not released any cause of death but believe there are “no suspicious circumstances.”

Just weeks ago, S Club 7 members Bradley, Hannah, Jo, Jon, Paul, Rachel, and Tina announced they were all on board for making a spectacular comeback after many years away and the usual pop band squabbles.

A joint statement said: “After eight years it feels amazing to announce that we’re reuniting and performing together again. We’re so excited to bring the S Club Party back to our fans across the country to celebrate 25 years of S Club 7. We can’t even believe it’s been so long! Music and friendship have always been at the core of everything that we’ve ever done. We hope everyone can join us for one big party!!”

Today there have been very different messages released, mourning the loss of their friend.

This was echoed in an official statement that read: “It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole. Paul was found yesterday, 6th April 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon.

“While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances. Paul’s family, friends and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time.”

Fans have been joining in with the tributes to their idol, but also acknowledging the tragedy that Paul will never get to be part of the major reunion – and that his loyal fans will never see him again with the band.

One said: “I was so looking forward to seeing the band again at their anniversary reunion tour this year and I’m devastated they will never be the full S Club 7 again. I hope Paul is at peace.”

When tickets for the tour first went on sale on Ticketmaster a surge of support from fans saw some venues quickly sell out, and new dates were added later that month.

The band achieved four UK number-one singles (Bring It All Back, Never Had a Dream Come True, Don’t Stop Movin’ and Have You Ever) as well as a number-one album with their sophomore record 7.

All 11 of their singles entered the top five in the UK singles charts, and they have sold more than 10 million albums worldwide.

The huge arena-only tour currently starts on October 12 at the AO Arena in Manchester and includes three dates at London’s O2, before it wraps up at the Utilita Arena Birmingham on October 29. Scroll down for the FULL LIST OF S CLUB 7 TOUR DATES.

At this stage, there is no official word about whether Paul’s sudden loss will affect the tour dates – but the most likely is that the band and fans will use the tour as a chance to pay tribute to the star.
