Side hustle: Dad of 4 shares ‘flexible’ hobby earning £300 extra each week | Personal Finance | Finance

A teacher has been able to make an extra £300 each week, despite his busy schedule due to the flexibility of his side hustle.

Faisal Khan has been able to earn a flexible second income which fits into his busy life as a teacher, and father to his four young children.

Mr Khan has always enjoyed driving as a way to “destress”, as it relaxes him. But now he has turned his hobby into a second income. He joined FREENOW around two years ago and has been able to make extra cash each month.

He told Express.co.uk: “I’ve always wanted to be a teacher, and driving a taxi has allowed me to achieve that.

“It’s given me the means to study and work at the same time; I can fit work around my hectic life rather than the other way around.

“Throughout my teacher training and career to date, I have used driving as a way to earn a second income, but also as a way to destress.

“I find driving relaxing and honestly, it has become more like a hobby than a job.

“I have the ability to work to my own schedule, which is vital for me. I can drive on my terms, at the times that work for me (which is usually early mornings and weekends). This is an advantage of FREENOW for me – being able to choose when I want to work.

“For example, this year, I cut down my teaching hours to three days a week, which I am financially able to do through driving. It means I now have more time to spend with my young family.”

Mr Khan aims to invest in an electric vehicle in the future, making it more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

FREENOW has been a huge benefit for Mr Khan as he is able to spend more time with his family due to less fear of bills not being paid.

He said: “My earnings with FREENOW tend to be up to £300 a week. The money that I get from working as a driver covers all the expenses for the car.”

Mr Khan is a secondary school maths and science teacher, something he always aspired to be.

He is passionate about educating the next generation and playing a key role in the community.

Having driven a taxi for many years, he made the switch to FREENOW two years ago due to the benefits and flexibility that were highlighted to him by a friend in the industry. He has been a FREENOW driver for nearly two years.

As the cost of living crisis continues, any extra cash could be vital for families on low incomes.
