Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, 58, stepped out at Royal Ascot today wearing a beautiful floral dress from one of her favourite brands.
The dress, which costs £1,150, is from Suzannah and features a pansy floral print.
The description says: “The Adela tea dress is based on our best selling signature tea dress silhouette, inspired by a 1930’s archive piece.
“This season we have collaborated the French photographer and artist, Rachel Levy. With the privilege of using her stunning multicoloured pansy photographs our textile designer developed a fun and unique polka dot effect print.
“The stunning colours of vibrant blues, oranges, purples and yellows within the delicate pansy petals created such a beautiful contrast to the soft ivory silk background.
“Together with a premium Italian cloth mill, the textile design was then digitally printed and finished onto the most beautiful silk crepe de chine. Wear Art! we say!
“The dress itself has three-quarter sleeves with gathering detailing whilst the body of the dress has an empire seam and bias-cut silhouette.
“There is an invisible centre back zip for step-in ease and the dress is lined from the empire seam to the hemline in Italian silk habotai.
“This signature and luxury investment tea dress has a flattering bias cut, which falls to a midi length on a woman of height five foot six inches.
“This dress can easily be styled with cashmere and sneakers for daywear, or elevated with stunning millinery and heels for special events. The dress travels beautifully being lightweight and holds little creasing! It can be worn all day and still look pristine!
“The perfect pure silk dress inside and out. Step inside and feel the sublime!”
The Duchess paired her dress with a pale blue hat and a £1,450 aquamarine necklace.
This Iris Pendant Necklace from Aspinal of London features an aquamarine and diamonds set in 18ct white gold.
Its description says: “An elegant and timeless piece, our Iris Pendant Necklace is crafted from 18ct white gold and features an exquisite octagon-cut aquamarine totalling 1.98 carats complemented by three brilliant-cut diamonds with a total weight of 0.38 carats suspended from an 18-inch rolo-style chain.”
Sophie also wore a small pair of blue earrings, a green clutch bag with a gold chain and some pale blue stiletto heels.
For today’s outing at Royal Ascot, Sophie posed with her father, Christopher Bournes Rhys-Jones who is 92 years old.
Christopher is a retired sales director for an importer of industrial tyres and rubber goods.
