Stylist spots Meghan Markle’s fashion fail at Invictus Games | Royal | News

Meghan Markle looked absolutely stunning last week when she attended several Invictus Games events in Düsseldorf.

However, according to a fashion expert, one of her looks from the games last year was more of a miss than a hit.

Personal stylist, personal shopper and image coach Melissa Lund spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about the Duchess’ fashion “fails”.

While Meghan is an incredibly stylish royal who can rock red carpet glam and casual daytime looks in equal measure, nobody can have a perfect outfit all the time.

Melissa admitted she was not a huge fan of the white Valentino suit Meghan wore to the Invictus Games Friends and Family reception on April 15, 2022.

Meghan paired the crisp white number with all white accessories, including a Valentino handbag with gold detailing and white Aquazzura heels.

Meghan went for minimal, simplistic jewellery. In addition to her stunning diamond trilogy engagement ring, she wore a gold pendant and gold stud earrings, plus a chic gold watch.

Melissa told Express.co.uk why she wasn’t a fan of the look. She opined: “Nice effort but the execution is all wrong. Oversize doesn’t flatter Meghan because it swamps her frame.”

The expert offered some style advice to the royal: “The look would have been better with neutral coloured shoes and bag rather than all white, which makes everything look a bit space age.”

Melissa also commented on another white outfit Meghan wore that she may have gotten a little bit wrong.

During the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Meghan stepped out for the National Service of Thanksgiving wearing a white coat dress and hat.

Melissa commented: “I love this outfit by Dior but not on Meghan. The collar of the coat eats into her neck length (she has a short neck, which often goes with a short torso), the belt is on her natural waist which draws attention to her short torso and the coat overall looks like it needs to fit closer to the body.

“Perhaps the issue here is the way the material drapes? As it is, the outfit makes her look shorter and heavier.

“The real question is, who let her commission this? It’s haute couture so should fit perfectly and be perfectly flattering – that’s the point of couture, after all.”
