Taylor Swift’s security guard ‘fired’ for asking fans to share photos of him | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Calvin Denker got more than he bargained for when he asked fans at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert to take some snaps of him with the star on stage.

Calvin, a now-former security guard who went viral earlier this year for lip-syncing to the pop star’s hit track Cruel Summer at one of her Eras Tour concerts in Minneapolis, claims he was fired after asking fans to send him photos of himself on the job with Taylor visible on stage.

In TikTok which has since gone viral, Calvin revealed: “Long story short: I was fired for it,” referring to a separate clip that showed him singing along at one of the concerts.

He goes on to say that he got into trouble after admitting, in a separate TikTok video shared in June, that he had passed out notes to Swifties at the gig asking them to text him any photos they took that he and Taylor appeared in together.

However, since the security company that hired him, Best Crowd Management, has a strict rule against staff taking photos with the talent, he was fired from his role.

In his latest TikTok post, Calvin explained: “Beyond that, the HR woman who called me wasn’t able to articulate exactly what I did wrong, because I didn’t do anything beyond asking for photos, which is what happens at any other concert, with the only exception being that I made sure I got any that I was included in.”

He went on to say: “Every photo of me from that night was from behind the barricade like any other photo from a fan would be.

“I never took my own phone out. And above all else, I made sure that Taylor Swift was safe and all the fans had a good time. As long as I was at that concert, I was doing my job.”

The Express has reached out to Best Crowd Management for comment.

Calvin also said in his video that he offered to take down the previous TikToks he had posted, and the company’s human resources rep said she would get back to him after talking “with her boss to see what could be done”.

Despite this, he claimed he never heard back from them for more than a month until he was scheduled to work an Ed Sheeran concert.

At that event, Calrvin said: “A couple of managers talked to me just to make sure that I wouldn’t be making any videos, but a lot of them were really cool and willing to give me a second chance.”

But after he had completed seven hours of his shift there, he says he was approached by HR and fired by the same woman he had previously spoken with from HR – even though he had not heard back from her since their first conversation.

Although Calvin lost his job in the end, he said he doesn’t have any bitter feelings towards his former employer.

“Please don’t go sending any hate to this company,” he told viewers, before adding: “I just wanted to update all of you because it was a very popular TikTok for me, so I wanted to let all of you know what had happened.

“I still got to work one of the coolest concerts ever, and I got to work it twice, so that is fantastic, and I hold no grudges against my employer.”

Calvin is yet to update fans on his latest employment status.
