Wrexham: Hollywood star Paul Rudd drinks beer and sings with fans ahead of crunch National League match | UK News

Hollywood star Paul Rudd joined Wrexham fans in the pub ahead of their crucial National League game on Saturday.

The Ant-Man actor, 52, was spotted drinking beer and singing songs with supporters at the Turf pub, next to the town’s Racecourse Ground ahead of the club’s clash with Boreham Wood.

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, who co-owns the club with fellow actor Rob McElhenney, revealed how he was “terribly nervous” as he arrived to watch Wrexham’s bid to secure three points and a promotion from the National League.

Supporter Paul Novelli, who travelled from the US state of Kentucky for his fourth trip to Wrexham, took a selfie with Rudd and another fan, Sandy, from Canada.

Mr Novielli described Rudd as “super nice” after he happily posed for pictures.

“(I) just said hi, can you take a picture, he said yeah… I asked if he’s having a good time and he said ‘amazing’,” the 37-year-old said.

The fan, who runs a podcast called Up The Town dedicated to Wrexham, said Rudd joined in with chants including Super Paul Mullin and Allez Allez Allez at the pub.

He sat with the owner of the pub, Wayne Jones, and did some “sing songs”, Mr Novielli added.
