Brian May performs Bohemian Rhapsody at We Will Rock You musical revival | Music | Entertainment

It’s been nine years since the Queen musical We Will Rock You closed at the Dominion Theatre in London’s West End.

Now for 12 weeks only the epic show returns for a 12-week run at the London Coliseum.

This time around the production’s writer Ben Elton is starring for the first time ever as Rebel Leader.

Ahead of tomorrow night’s gala premiere, Sir Brian May has visited the previews and oversaw the installation of the new Freddie Mercury statue.

And as is part of his little tradition, the Queen legend likes to make a surprise cameo at the end by playing his Bohemian Rhapsody guitar solo.

Reigniting that tradition, Sir Brian was lifted on stage from a platform beneath before playing that iconic riff.

Filmed by Theatre Fan Shaun Tossell, fans were clearly left in awe at the sight of the Queen legend himself joining the We Will Rock You cast at the end of the show.

Having attended the first preview over the weekend, the 75-year-old rocker shared his response.

Sir Brian wrote on his official Instagram: “It was a magnificent first preview tonight of WE WILL ROCK YOU the Rock Theatrical, reborn in the Coliseum Theatre and bristling with new energy.

“Congratulations to the entire Company – what an incredible response !!!!”

Queen musical We Will Rock You starring Ben Elton is playing at London Coliseum for 12 weeks only and can be booked here.
