Jeremy Renner: Marvel star posts workout video two months after snow plough accident | Ents & Arts News

Jeremy Renner has shared an update on his recovery two months after he was almost killed by a snow plough earlier this year.

The Marvel actor posted a short clip of him rebuilding the strength of his leg by using a stationary exercise bike.

Wearing jogging bottoms, and with his feet bare, he used his hand and a pole-like tool to help him peddle.

He could be heard puffing with exertion as he exercised and wrote alongside the video: “Whatever it takes”.

He also shared a picture of The Book Of Awakening: Having The Life You Want By Being Present In The Life You Have, by Mark Nepo.

Reading the series of daily reflections in front of a roaring fire, he captioned the snap “mental recovery too”.

Renner, 52, spent two weeks in intensive care after breaking more than 30 bones in a near-fatal snow plough accident on New Year’s Day.

The Hollywood star was reportedly using his own PistenBully snow plough to help move his nephew’s stuck car from his driveway near Reno, Nevada.

But when the six-tonne plough began to slide down a hill, Renner leapt out of his cab before being dragged underneath the vehicle.

He suffered injuries to his “torso, face, extremities and head”, according to the local Washoe County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities said the vehicle may have had mechanical issues.

Renner returned home from hospital to continue his recovery last month, and has been regularly sharing updates of his progress on social media.

Earlier this month, his Marvel co-star Evangeline Lilly said she had recently visited the wheelchair-bound actor at his home and that she felt his swift recovery was a “straight-up miracle”.

Lilly told US outlet Access Hollywood: “I walked in his house and got chicken skin, because I was like, ‘Why are you mobile? Why are you mobile? What’s happening?’

“I expected to sit at his bedside and hold his hand while he moaned and groaned in pain and wasn’t able to move. He was wheeling himself around, laughing with his friends. It’s a miracle, a straight-up miracle.

“He’s made of something really tough, that guy. You’ve always been able to see that in him. He is recovering incredibly, and I’m so grateful.”

A log of a 911 emergency call described the actor as being “completely crushed” by the machine, as the right side of his chest collapsed, and his upper torso was crushed.

A forthcoming Disney+ construction show titled Rennervations hosted by the star is still being planned for release, with Renner telling fans he will share the project “as soon as I’m back on my feet”.
