Elton John will bring four ‘special’ guests to Glastonbury 2023 stage | Music | Entertainment

In what will surely be a monumental evening of live music, Sir Elton John will be capping off the festivities of Glastonbury 2023 this weekend.

The Rocketman is the final act hitting the Pyramid stage at 9pm on Sunday night, and will play for just over two hours.

This will be the first time he has played Glastonbury Festival, and it will also (apparently) act as his last ever live UK show as he goes into retirement.

Now the icon’s husband, David Furnish, has revealed Elton will not be doing it alone.

Speaking on Beth Rigby Interviews, David said Elton is bringing “four collaborators of his choosing” to the stage across the setlist.

David went on to hint: “People, he just thought, ‘I’d really like to do something with these artists at Glastonbury.'”

However, David – who has been married to Elton for nine years – added: “And that’s all I’m going to say.”

When pressed on who the artists might be, David doubled down: “Sorry. I am sworn to secrecy.”

He did go on to give some hints as to how the show will pan out, however.

“This one is very special,” David said of Sir Elton’s headline slot. “It is not just another day in office. It’s a different setlist – it’s a huge outdoor live festival.

“He’s got four different collaborators joining him on stage at different times, who I won’t name, sorry,” David added. “So, he’s done a lot of changes. A lot on his plate, so I think he’s anxious. Yeah, but I think good, anxious, healthy anxious.”

At the moment, the odds are in the favour of a specific few musicians from around the world joining the star this weekend.

Bookmaker William Hill has included Dua Lipa (1/16) and Lady Gaga (1/4) on their list of favourites set to join Elton John on the Pyramid Stage this weekend.

Other names on the list include Harry Styles (8/11) and Eminem (4/5).
