A college student has surprised the internet with their strange living situation. She lives in a shed in her parent’s garden. There’s no bathroom, and no kitchen but the student says she “loves” her “rent-free shed”.
Aniah Warne is a 21-year-old college student from Boise, Idaho who has a unique solution to avoid paying rent while studying.
Aniah lives in a shed located in her parent’s garden. In a TikTok video captioned, “I love my rent-free shed”, Aniah gave a tour of her living quarters.
She began her tour by filming her parent’s backyard and showed that the shed was located right next to her parent’s home. Aniah then showed that the wall next to her bed opens up to give her a “little porch”.
Aniah showed inside her room, which is about the size of a small studio apartment. The college student has colourfully decorated the room with a tapestry hanging on the ceiling above the bed, fairy lights on the wall, and lots of plants and posters.

She said: “So I have my desk, a TV, my bed, and then this is the view sitting in my bed,” and then proceeded to show the view from her bed, which is lots of bamboo plants and greenery in her parent’s garden.
Aniah then showed off the other furniture in her room, which featured a comfy-looking armchair and a bookshelf filled with more plants and lots of books. She said: “And then I have my nightstand with essentials, a cute little chair, plant, shelves, fridge. I have this mirror to look at outfits and then this is my closet.”
The college student then showed a decently-sized walk-in closet with shelves filled with clothes as well as other knick-knacks.
She then said: “So yeah that’s my shed” as she finished the video. The video has gone viral online with over 1.5 million views and many people are curious about the unique living arrangement.
Aniah later made a follow-up video as people were curious about what the “bug situation” was like in the shed. She said: “Honestly, I don’t have an issue with spiders or mosquitos or flies. I have the door and the window open right now, and there is not a single fly in here. I do have to be concerned about leaving food out, though, because of ants.”
Curious commentators also wished to know what the temperature was like in Aniah’s shed, but she assured viewers she had an AC and a heater.
However, many viewers noticed that there was no bathroom or kitchen in the living quarters, and asked Aniah what she did for those facilities. She explained that her parent’s house was only a few seconds away. She said: “I walk like 10 feet inside. Right as you walk in there’s the bathroom [and] there’s the kitchen.”
In Aniah’s comment section, people were delighted at the “cosy” looking shed and praised the college student’s decorating. One popular comment called the shed “so fricking cosy!”
Another person said: “Bro, this is so cute. It’s like a studio apartment but actually in a pretty place.” Another commentator joked about the bohemian style of the shed, and said: “That’s the perfect place to smoke pot lol.”
Many comments said they were “obsessed” with Aniah’s “cute” shed, but other people said they wanted to live there, as one popular comment said: “I don’t get how people can see this and not want the same thing.”
One woman named Haley said: “You’re living my childhood dream” while another user said: “Love this, cosy and [it’s] all your own! Tiny living is the way forward.”
