Royal Mail warns customers of fresh delays – full list of areas affected

Royal Mail has announced which postcodes across the country have been affected by postal delays this morning. The company has been experiencing a series of delays due to bad weather and staff shortages.

On its website, Royal Mail explained that it operates an air, rail, and road network to move letters and parcels between its distribution hubs, mail processing centres, and delivery offices around the UK.

Today, it has updated customers on how well these networks are operating. Its air network has been operating to schedule for the last 24 hours, but for one exception.

It said: “Due to a runway closure at Stansted Airport, some mail due to travel on flights to Belfast and Scotland left later than planned.

“As a result, some mail posted parts of the South of England and London, due for delivery in Northern Ireland and Scotland may arrive later than planned.”

Royal Mail’s rail network, however, operated to schedule over the last 24 hours, as well as its road network.

As for its mail centres, some across the UK reported that not all mail was processed and dispatched to schedule over the last 24 hours. These are listed below:

Bristol Mail Centre: Some mail posted in the BA, BS, GL and TA postcode areas for delivery today in other parts of the UK.

Cardiff Mail Centre: Some mail posted in the CF, LD and NP postcode areas for delivery today in other parts of the UK.

Chelmsford Mail Centre: Some mail posted in other parts of the UK for delivery today in the CM, CO and SS postcode areas.

Dorset Mail Centre: Some mail posted in other parts of the UK for delivery today in the BH and DT postcode areas.

Medway Mail Centre: Some mail posted in other parts of the UK for delivery today in the CT, DA, ME and TN postcode areas.

Royal Mail added: “Following the recent amber weather warning customers in areas affected by snow and ice may experience some disruption to delivery and collection services.

“The majority of services are running as usual, but whilst we work to recover service there may be some disruption in the following areas of the country:

“Parts of the Midlands, North East and North West England, North Wales and Scotland postcode areas, AB44-45, B15-16, B18-21, B29-31, B35-36, B38, B42-44, B62-67, B70-76, BN9, BS4, BS14, BS21, BS49, CH7, DY1-3, DY5, HD8, HD9, LS27, NN1, NN4-5, PE26, PE28-29, S12, S13, S6, S26, S35-36, S43, S70, S71, S72, S75, SK17, SK22-23, TF3-4,TF7-8, TF12, TW11, LL11-14, LL21 and ZE2.
