Sarah Ferguson’s best friend in the Royal Family was Princess Diana

Judi claimed: “Sadly, like many things that Sarah does, things went a little too far and she was seen as a bad influence on Diana, no matter how happy and carefree Diana was finally looking as a team of two.

“The bum-poking with the brollies at Ascot was deemed to be unsuitable behaviour and the way Diana pretended to fall over onto her friend during the photo call on the royal skiing holiday prompted a very old-fashioned look from an irritated Prince Charles, who clearly did not share the joke.”

But according to the body language expert, the young friends had a very mutually beneficial dynamic.

Judi said: “Fergie brought a lot to this relationship but, according to legend, Sarah only married into the Firm because Diana pushed her for Andrew’s wife.

“And with Diana already established as one of the most popular royals, Sarah had no problem integrating into her new family.
